Vocals

Conditions of admission of the pre- and Central study: General musicality, very good hearing, physical fitness and a stage appearance are desired.

 

                                                                                  Modules of the lower level:

 

                                                                                         1.u.2. Semester:

 

Elementary vocal and speech training, breathing exercises, Vaccai: "Vocalisen and Solfeggies", very easy songs from the Volksliedschatz to loosen up the lessons.

 

                                                                                          3.u.4. Semester:

 

Vocal exercises, breathing exercises tailored to individual needs. Concone: "50 Vocalisen" - selection, Lüttgens: "Cunning" - Part 1, simple songs by Mendelssohn. Entrance exam: 1 Vocalise from Vaccai: "Vocalises and Solfeggies" 2 vocalises in Concone difficulty: "25 vocalises" 2 songs by Haydn and Mozart 2 songs by F.Mendelssohn, R.Schumann on the difficulty of J.Brahms: "Lullaby"

 

                                                                              Modules of the intermediate level:

 

                                                                                            5.u.6. Semester:

 

Breath exercises, Lüttgens: "Kehlfertigkeit" - Part 2, "Der kleine Hey", Concone: "25 and 15 vocalises", lighter songs by Mendelssohn, Franz Schumann and J.Brahms, old Italian arias in the difficulty of "Caro mio ben" , the other songs on the Difficulty level by J.Brahms: "Sandmännchen", "Wiegenlied" Preparation for entrance examination in the conservatory.

 

                                                                                             7.u.8. Semester:

Basic concepts of vocal training (repetition: respiratory support, resonance, registers, phonetics). Vocal compensation. WAMozart: "Solfeggios and singing exercises", Concone: "Vocalisen" (repetition and improvement), Lüttgen: "Kehlfertigkeit" I. and II. Part (repetition), songs by Robert Franz, WAMozart, LvBeethoven and light baroque arias (eg Pergolesi). Songs by J.A.P.Schulz, J.Fr.Reichard and Zelter.

 

                                                                                              9.u.10. Semester:

Continuation of vocal studies, education for meaningful practice, listening and self-control. G.Aprile: "36 Solfeggies", W.A.Mozart: "Solfeggies and Vocal Exercises". Schemelli's hymn book: Liederauswahl, J.Haydn: "Songs for the Clavier", medium-heavy songs by L.v.Beethoven, F.Schubert, R. Schumann and J.Brahms: "German Folk Songs" Passing exam: (entrance examination to the conservatory) Two vocalises from Concone A baroque aria e.g. from Pergolesi An ancient Italian aria e.g. "Caro mio ben" Two songs by W.A. Mozart, J. Haydn or L.v. Beethoven A song by F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, F. Schubert or J. Brahms Completed General Music Theory and Ear Training I Modules of the advanced level

Continuation of the Vocal Studies (Runs, Staccato, Interval Studies, Register Transition, Mezza voce, Dynamik) Continuation of the studies according to Lüttgen: "Kehlfertigkeit" I. and II. Part, easy songs by M.Reger, R. Strauss, J. Marx, M .Ravel, C.Debussy, easy solos from the mass compositions by Haydn, Mozart and F.Schubert (mass in G major)

 

                                                                                                3.u.4. Semester:

Intensification of vocal studies (coloratura, jumps, swells) W.A.Mozart: "Solfeggios and singing exercises" (repetition). Songs from the work of F.Schubert, J.Brahms, R.Schumann, H.Wolf. Arias from the oratorios of J.Haydn, heavier solo parts from the exhibition compositions of W.A.Mozart and F.Schubert, light opera arias by W.A.Mozart and A.Lortzing

 

                                                                                                 5.u.6. Semester:

Expansion of the voice volume, development of the singer personality, improvement of interpretation. R. Schumann: "Dichterliebe", J.Brahms: "Zigeunerlieder" or in the comparable degree of difficulty. Study of lighter parts from oratorio and opera (Mozart, Lortzing, Weber, Donizetti, Handel and Bach). Lighter places from the French, romantic opera repertoire. 7.u.8. Semester: Studies on phrasing and ornamentation. Studies of song making, the late 19th and 20th century. Recitative technique based on operas and oratorios, e.g. L.V. Beethoven: "Christ on the Mount of Olives", "Fidelio", "Missa solemnis". Entrance exam: Two songs from the Baroque period Three songs from the songs of classical music Three songs from the songs of Romanticism, degree of difficulty by R.Strauss: "Zueigung" Two modern songs of comparable difficulty Two arias from oratorios by Handel and Haydn on the difficulty level of "Nun beut 'die Flur" (Creation) Three solo positions from the works of J.Haydn, W.A. Mozart or F.Schubert or three arias in the comparable degree of difficulty in opera literature (W.A.Mozart, C.M.v.Weber) Modules of the education level:

 

                                                                                                 9.u.10. Semester: 

Development of parts from the music-dramatic oeuvre of G.Verdi, G. Puccini, P. Mascagni, L. Leoncavallo. Occupation with a part of R. Wagner matching the voice. Study of a modern opera performance on the difficulty level "Mathis the Painter" (P. Hindemith), J.M. Hauer: "The black spider", L.Janacek: "Jenufa", repetition of the material from the 5th and 6th year.

 

                                                                                                  11.u.12. Semester:

Preparation of the certified final examination program, repetition of the material of the 2nd study stage. Designing your own song and aria evening. Certified Final Exam Requirements: The certified final exam is to be performed by heart and should have a minimum duration of 2 hours. A song cycle on the difficulty level of F. Schubert: "Winterreise" Two arias from Baroque oratorios in the difficulty of J.S.Bach "It is finished" (Matthew Passion) Two arias from the oratorio work of the Viennese Classic Two opera arias from the Viennese classics in the difficulty of "Fidelio" L.v. Beethoven Two arias from the Italian operatic repertoire An aria from the opera repertoire of modern times

The certified final exam has to be taken in two parts, namely an internal and a committee public examination.
