Jazz Trumpet

                                              Reception: Sufficient technical playability on the instrument.


                                                                Modules of the sub u. Middle School:


                                                                                   6 semesters:


Are intended as preparatory jubilees for the jazz section. With special talent and qualitative progress of playability, a vintage can be skipped. Teaching materials: Kliment: Beginner School, Simpler Etudes from Kopprasch, Volumes 1 and 2, J.B. Arban: Etude volume 1, first improvisation exercises, phrasing exercises, jazz styles. Maintenance of the various conventional scales and triad decompositions. From the 2nd year onwards in the middle studies: One ensemble obligation per year; "Swing" / "Be Bop". Crossover / Acceptance Requirements: Conventional major and minor scales over 2 octaves as well as 3 and 4 sound decompositions A simple etude from Kopprasch, Volume 2 and the trumpet school J.B. Arban, Volume 1 A self-selected performance jazz standard such as Blue Monk Improvisation with an existing rhythm group e.g. a blues Prima Vista game of a simple jazz standard with improvisation about changes Completed General Music Theory and Ear Training I


                                                                         Modules of the upper level:


                                                                                 1.u.2. Semester:


Scales and chords, Tonbildungsübungen, refinements in the field of Respiration, tone formation, grip technique, impact and flexibility with partial use of the classical trumpet literature. Development of a repertoire. Ensemble: "Funk" / "Swing"


                                                                                  3.u.4. Semester:


Scales & amp; Modes, Cords & amp; Progression, flexibility, advanced phrasing study, Style exercises, improvisations, sheet reading exercises, preparation of repertoire works, e.g. Charly Parker et al. Ensemble: "Be Bop" Entrance exam: Knowledge of the teaching contents of the 1st and 2nd year A transcribed improvisation e.g. by Charly Parker: Yardbird Improvisation of a theme with rhythm group e.g. "There'll never be another you", "How's the time", "Sunny moon for two". An Etude from the study of the 2nd year

Scales & amp; Modes, Chords & amp; Progressions, exercises for flexibility, style, Phrasing exercises, improvisation exercises, sheet play exercises. Relevant literature for Jazz trumpet, chord studies Ensemble: "Funk"


                                                                                   7.u.8. Semester:


Technical Studies from Chord-Studies and O. Nelson: Pattern for Saxophone Development of a corresponding repertoire and the certified Audit program. Certified Final Exam Requirements: 3 exercises from Chord-Studies 2 exercises from O. Nelson: Pattern for Saxophone 1 jazz standard with rhythm group e.g. & Quot; walkin & quot; A ballad, e.g. Stella by Starlight or My funny Valentine A jazz standard swing, latin or jazz rock - Joy Spring, Blue bossa and Merci, merci, merci Quitting a solo part in a big band formation From a shortlist of 30 standards, 10 must be memorized at the diploma exam can be played.


The certified final exam is in two parts, namely in a committee internal and one commissional public examination.
